1. Give thanks to the Lord because He is good,
because His mercy is forever,***

2. Let the house of Israel say that He is good,
because His mercy is forever,

3. Let the house of Aaron say that He is good,
because His mercy is forever

4. Indeed, let all those who fear the Lord say that He is good,
because His mercy is forever,

5. I called upon the Lord myself in my tribulation,
and He heard me in a broad place,***

6. The Lord is a Helper to me,
I will not fear anything man will do to me.

7. The Lord is a Helper to me,
And I will look upon my enemies.

8. It is good to trust in the Lord,
rather than to trust in man.

9. It is good to hope in the Lord,
rather than to hope in rulers.

10. All the nations encircled me,
and I defended myself against them in the name of the Lord.

11. Circling around, they encircled me,
and by the name of the Lord I defended myself against them.

12. They encircled me as though bees to a honeycomb.
And they burned out as though a fire among thorns,
And in the name of the Lord I defended myself against them.

13. Being thrust I was overturned and fell,
And the Lord held me back,***

14. My strength and my song is the Lord,
And [He] became to me my salvation.

15. There is a sound of joy and salvation in the tents of the righteous,
The right hand of the Lord performed power.

16. The right hand of the Lord lifted me up,
The right hand of the Lord performed power.

17. I shall not be killed, but I shall live,
And I shall describe in full detail the works of the Lord,

18. The LORD, rearing me as a child, disciplined me,
And in death He did not hand me over.

19. "Open to me the gates of righteousness,"
Going into them I shall give thanks to the Lord,

20. This gate of the LORD,
The righteous will enter into it,

21. I shall give thanks to You because You heard me,
And You became to me my salvation (cf 14).

22. The stone which those building discarded,
This [stone] became the head cornerstone.***

23. This came about by the LORD,
And it is wondrous in our eyes,

24. This is the day which the LORD made,
We shall rejoice and be happy in it.

25. "O LORD, save indeed,"
"O LORD, lead us well indeed,

26. "He is blessed the one who comes in the name of the LORD,"
"We blessed y'all from the house of the LORD,

27. The Lord is God and shined upon us,
Set up the feast with the coverings
up to the horns of the altar.***

28. You are my God, and I shall give thanks to You,
You are my God and I shall lift You up,
I shall give thanks to You because You heard me,
And became to me my salvation.

29. Give thanks to the Lord because He is good,
because His mercy is forever.***
